YG feat. Meek Mill- I'm A Thug (Behind The Scenes)

This past Wednesday January 25th, YG, flooded his old neighborhood of Compton California with friends & spectators as he shot the first video for his upcoming 400 Degrees mixtape, “I’m A Thug”, a track that features Maybach Music Group artist Meek Mill. 57thAve was granted access to the shoot and caught the footage above from the shoot that also brought out West Coast rapper Nipsey Hussle to show support, and who will also be making a cameo in the video & the upcoming 400 Degrees mixtape. Unfortunately, minutes before Meek Mill showed up to the set, gunshots ran off (which you can clearly hear in the clip) nearby and the shoot was forced to come to an abrupt end. The Sheriff’s department quickly blocked off all the streets in the surrounding area, but according to spectators, it was the police who were trigger happy that evening and no one who was actually at the shoot. Billboard recently caught up with YG to get some insight on how this collaboration came about:

Cory Gunz Arrested In NY On Gun Charges

Unfortunately, Cory Gunz is living up to his name. Yesterday afternoon, Cory was arrested in the Bronx with a loaded gun. His father, Peter Gunz, reached out to MTV to confirm the arrest:

“They caught him around 2p.m. in the afternoon with a loaded gun in his knapsack. It was definitely an illegal search. I spoke to the arresting officer, and so far, what I’m hearing from him is that they got a phone call at the station saying they should ‘look out’. According to [the officer], they didn’t know he was Cory Gunz. They just saw a bunch of kids following him around.
What I will say is that the officer that arrested Cory, actually happened to be a cool dude. After arresting Cory, sitting down with him and talking, he felt bad about the situation.
At the end of the day, there’s a reason for everything, but at the same time, in New York, it’s mandatory jail time,” he said. “To go to a precinct and see your son, your junior, in handcuffs, it’s heartbreaking. Anytime you see your child in jail, in the cell, in handcuffs, it’s very hard. He’s walked down some of the same paths that I walked down, but you never want to see your kids go through what you went through.
This is Cory’s first offense, but sometimes they like to make an example out of rappers and people with any kind of celebrity to them.”

Ras Kass leaves the HRSMN

Before Slaughterhouse, Hip Hop had another lyricist group in the form of The HRSMN (The 4 Horsemen) that consisted of Ras Kass, Canibus, Kurupt and Killah Priest. Unfortunately, a album has never surfaced from the group with only tracks appearing here & there on the individual solo albums from the artists within the group. And even though they announced that their album would finally drop, things seem to had hit a standstill as Ras Kass has now announced his departure from the group. Watch as he explains why.
